Nick Lourenco and
Anjali Mead were named the Men's and Women's Freshmen of the Week.
Tessa Webb earned Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors while teammateÂ
Sydney Horn was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week.Â
Tessa Webb, Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Webb won the women's steeplechase at the VertKlasse Meeting on Friday, March 31st, en route to a new personal record. She shattered her previous best by 28 seconds with a time of 11:02.50. Her time ranks 44th in the East. This week also marks the first time this season and in her career Webb has earned weekly honors from the conference.Â
Sydney Horn, Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Horn finished third in the women's pole vault at the VertKlasse Meeting on Saturday, April 1st. Clearing 4.32m, she is currently fourth in the East among women's pole vaulters and will look to prepare for the First Round NCAA Championships in Jacksonville, Florida, in May. This is the fourth time in her career that Horn has won an outdoor weekly award and the first time this season.Â
Anjali Mead, Women's Freshman of the Week
Mead picked up her second-straight weekly award after finishing ninth in the women's pole vault with a mark of 4.02m. The clearance at the VertKlasse Meeting marked a new personal best for Mead as well.Â
Nick Lourenco, Men's Freshman of the Week
Lourenco finished third in the men's pole vault at the VertKlasse Meeting to earn his second outdoor Big South weekly award. He broke 5.00m with a clearance of 5.07m, a new personal record as well, 10 centimeters better than his previous best mark.Â
