Head Coach Lyndsey Boswell: "I am completely disappointed with the outcome today. I thought the first half was just what we needed from an execution standpoint in all areas outside of our shooting. We were unable to make the adjustments that were talked about at halftime in that area and we beat ourselves in the second half.
"Shoutout to Sadie (Coachman) for coming off the bench and making some big saves in the second half for us. I still really love this group and look forward to the moment we put a full 60 minutes together."
With just over a minute left in the second quarter,
Mandy Brockamp sprinted to the net with authority as she deposited her second goal in as many games to knot the score at 7-all before intermission. It was a first half that saw Loescher record her fourth multi-goal game with three goals, plus two assists, with teammates Rosselli,
Jordan Miles and
Emma Genovese joining Loescher and Brockamp in scoring.
Sadie Coachman and
Taylor Suplee split time in the net with Suplee starting the contest and Coachman finishing with five saves and four goals allowed. The Panthers found goals from Rosselli and
Pia Cavallaro in the third quarter, but were unable to connect in the final 15 minutes.
Mackie Scheib recorded her first start of the season and had an assist, while
Shannon Smith also contributed an assist.
Ava Scudillo led the defense with three caused turnovers, while
Emma Nowakowski scooped a team-high four groundballs alongside Loescher,
Jenna Kraft and
Sami Macdonald each having three each. Genovese paced the Panthers with four draw controls with Brockamp and Rosselli each grabbing a pair apiece. Kraft and Macdonald also had two caused turnovers each.
