Four Post Collegiate Lows in Win at Rivertowne Invitational

Charleston, S.C. - Women's golf took home its third win of the 2022-2023 season on Tuesday at The Rivertowne Invitational. As a team, the Panthers shot a 5-over par 869. Danielle Suh, Ana-Elena Kusters, Freja Ekman, and Ella Perna all posted their collegiate low scores to propel the Panthers to victory.

Sarah Kahn got off to a fast start in round one, making birdie on the first hole and fourth hole. Kahn made a total of four birdies and just one bogey for a round of 3-under par, good for a tie at the top of the leaderboard. Ella Perna also started strong, posting her collegiate low round of 70. She made four birdies, including two on par 5's. Two bogeys put her at 2-under par for the day, good for a tie for sixth after day one. As a team, the Panthers finished day one in a tie for sixth.
 
Freja Ekman got going late in round two. Entering the final five holes of play at 1-over-par, Ekman three of the final five holes to shoot a collegiate-low 2-under par 70 for the day. Danielle Suh was the other Panther to shoot under par in round two, shooting a 1-under-par 71. The Panthers were in fourth after the second day of play.
 
Suh was the star of the final round for the Panthers. Suh played the first eight holes at two under par. Suh's birdie on the par-3 eighth hole put the Panthers in a tie for the lead. After a bogey on 10 and a double bogey on 14, Suh birdied two of her final four holes to finish the day with a 2-under-par 70, her collegiate low. Her round was also tied for the low round of the day. She finished the tournament at three over par.

After starting her final round with a double bogey, Ana-Elena Kusters rattled off two birdies in three holes. She alternated birdies and bogeys on holes 15-18 to finish with her collegiate-low even-par 72. Kahn finished in a tie for fifth, shooting a 1-under-par 215 for the event. As a team, High Point shot the lowest round of the day, collectively shooting a 1-over-par 289.

The Panthers will head to Wilmington, N.C. to play in the River Landing Classic, hosted by UNCW.
