RADFORD, Va. – The High Point University women's basketball team fell to Radford 65-55, despite a late rally from the Panthers.
Nakyah Terrell led HPU with 13 points while
Jordan Edwards and
Jenson Edwards each posted five steals.
Jenson Edwards also added nine points, seven assists, and six rebounds to her line.

The Highlanders opened the game on an 8-2 run while
Claire Wyatt had the first layup of the game for HPU. Terrell ended the run with her first three-pointer of the night, but Radford added another 6-0 run to extend its lead to nine midway through the opening quarter.
Jenson Edwards got on the board with a layup before another Radford triple and layup before Terrell made back-to-back layups and
Jordan Edwards knocked down two free throws to pull back within 19-13.
Radford opened the second quarter with two layups, but Terrell knocked down another three-pointer before
Jenson Edwards converted on the and-1 opportunity.
Neveah Zavala added a free throw in the run to bring HPU back within five, 25-20, with 6:33 left in the half.
HPU added layups from Zavala and
Skyler Curran, but two layups and three-pointer from the Highlanders extended their lead, 33-24.
Radford started the second half with four-straight layups and a free throw before HPU countered with two free throws and a three-pointer from
Jordan Edwards. Edwards intercepted a pass on the next possession and found
Jenson Edwards down the floor, who hit
Claire Wyatt in stride for two easy points under the basket. HPU still trailed, 42-33, with 5:04 remaining in the quarter. Six-straight points from the Highlanders were interrupted by two
Jenson Edwards free throws before
Shakira Baskerville closed out the quarter with a layup.
Wyatt opened the final period with a layup before Terrell added her third triple of the night. The Panthers cut it back down to a nine-point deficit on back-to-back layups from
Anna Häger before Baskerville knocked down a three-pointer and added a layup. With 4:52 remaining, HPU trailed 60-51.
A 9-0 run put the Panthers back within five, as Baskerville knocked down a three-pointer and two more layups before
Jenson Edwards added another. But Radford would go on to ice the game with five made free throws to hold a 65-55 lead with 13 seconds remaining.
