Horn, Mead Receive Big South Weekly Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - On Wednesday afternoon, the Big South announced the Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, naming Sydney Horn as the Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season while Anjali Mead earned Freshman of the Week honors on the women's side.

Horn finished third overall in pole vault, nearly breaking her own school record with a mark of 4.45m at the Virginia Tech Invitational this past weekend. She now holds the top spot in the NCAA Division I for pole vault with a competitive mark of 14' 7.25 and will look to hold a spot in NCAA DI top-16 to compete for a national championship in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.

Mead finished third in the unseeded women's pole vault on Friday afternoon at the Virginia Tech Invitational with a mark of 3.90m. Mead's mark is seventh-best in High Point University program history.
