HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The High Point University volleyball team stayed perfect in Big South play with a 3-1 win over Winthrop on Friday night. The Panthers move to 10-6 overall and 3-0 in conference.
Sydney Palazzolo (16),
Dylan Maberry (15), and
Maria Miggins (12) all recorded double-digit kills while
Ally Van Eekeren dished out 43 assists on the night.Â

Withrop used a 5-0 run midway through the first set to take a 13-7 lead, but the Panthers got back within 14-12 with a stretch that featured two kills apiece from
Sydney Palazzolo and
Maria Miggins. The Eagles scored four of the last five points in the set to take the win, 25-19.
Palazzolo led HPU in the second set with five kills to help the Panthers tie the match at one set apiece after winning the second set, 25-13. High Point scored seven of the last nine points with kills from
Ally Van Eekeren,
Dylan Maberry, and Palazzolo.
The Panthers took the early 5-1 lead in set three behind two kills from Miggins and another from Palazzolo.Â
Winthrop worked to get back within 14-12, but two more kills from Van Eekeren and Maberry sparked a 5-1 run and saw the Panthers to another set win to take the 2-1 lead into the break. Maberry tallied four kills in the set while Van Eekeren and Miggins chipped in three each.
Palazzolo finished off her team-high 16-kill night with six kills in the fourth and final set.Â
Miggins (12 kills, 13 digs), Van Eekeren (43 assists, 10 digs), and Palazzolo (16 kills, 15 digs) also finished the night with double-doubles.Â
