CLINTON, S.C. – The High Point University baseball club picked up a sweep of the Blue Hose in their final regular season series.
Peyton Carr,
Charlie Klingler,
Adam Stuart, and
Jackson Melton each had two-hit days while
Sam Garcia picked up the win on the mound and moved to 5-4 on the year.

Panther Particulars
After trailing 1-0 at the end of the first, the Panthers responded with three runs to secure the lead.
Adam Stuart and
Andrew Amato led off with singles before Stuart scored on an RBI-double from
Cole Singsank. With runners in scoring position,
Sam Zayicek's sacrifice fly out to left field scored Amato and gave HPU the 2-1 lead.
Jackson Melton reached base with a single before Singsank scored on a wild pitch to give the Panthers the two-run lead.
HPU added another run in the fifth,
Peyton Carr reached after being hit by a pitch and advanced on a single from
Charlie Klingler. Stuart's sacrifice fly out scored Carr and HPU took the 4-1 lead.
Zayicek smashed a solo home run to right field and added another HPU insurance run.
The Panthers stayed quiet until the ninth inning when they plate five runs on five hits. Fields and Carr both led off with walks and bases were loaded after Klingler singled. Fields scored as Stuart singled through the left side while Carr and Klingler both crossed home plate safely on
Justin Ebert's double to left field.
HPU's final runs were added when Stuart and Ebert scored as
Blake Sutton singled through the right side.
