The High Point University baseball team dropped a 5-1 decision to Elon on Tuesday night at Latham Park.
Charlie Klingler and
Cole Singsank each finished with two hits in the contest while Klingler, Singsank, and
Adam Stuart all recorded doubles on the night.

The Panthers were first to put a run on the scoreboard after
Charlie Klingler led off the top of the first with a double to left field and advanced to third base on
Peyton Carr's single. A sacrifice fly out from
Blake Sutton plated Klingler and gave HPU the early 1-0 advantage.

Sean Duffy worked through the Elon line up in the bottom half of the inning, earning a strikeout before Sutton caught a runner attempting to steal second base to end the inning.

The Phoenix got on the board after a solo home run in the bottom of the second and tacked on another run in the fourth before relief pitcher
Everett Vaughan got the strikeout to end the fifth.

Elon tacked on another two runs in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run home run to add two more insurance runs to the Phoenix lead.
