18 Panthers Score in Win over Hampton

Site: Armstrong Stadium (Hampton, Va.)

Score: High Point 25, Hampton 8

Records: High Point (7-5, 2-1), Hampton 0-8 (0-3)

HAMPTON, Va.— The High Point University men's lacrosse team defeated Hampton University 25-8 on Friday (April 15th) night. Asher Nolting led the way in scoring for HPU as he recorded nine points in just two quarters of play as he dished out seven assists and scored two goals. Nolting has 198 assists in his career, he is two away from becoming the eighth collegiate lacrosse player to eclipse 200 career assists. Five Panthers scored their first collegiate goals in the double-digit win over the Pirates.

Coach Jon Torpey: "At this point in the season, to be able to get all of our guys on the field was terrific. I felt like when the second group of guys went out there we didn't feel a drop-off and when the first group came off they brought the energy the second group had in the first half. I am proud of our guys and proud of the effort. It is awesome what Chazz Woodson is doing here at Hampton and I wish his program nothing but the best as they enter into the CAA next year. Again I am fired up for our guys tonight."
