Panther Particulars
Sean Duffy kept Bulldog hitters in check through the first three innings, recording a strikeout in each inning and not allowing a runner past second base.

Brady Pearre started the Panther rally in the top of the third, as he singled up the middle and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Javon Fields followed up with another single up the middle, scoring Pearre and giving HPU the 1-0 lead.

Fields stole second before Blake Sutton and Peyton Carr drew walks to load the bases, but a 6-4-3 double play ended the inning.

The Bulldogs answered in the bottom of the fourth, scoring two runs to take the lead. Everett Vaughan relieved Duffy in the fifth, giving up one run on a single and a triple before recording his first strikeout of the day to end the inning. Asheville plated three more runs in the next two innings to take a 5-1 lead through six innings.

HPU scored a run in the top of the seventh as Josh Deslauriers' RBI-single to right field scored Justin Ebert, but the Panthers were unable to rally further to extend the game and pick up another win.

Up Next: High Point will host Pitt tomorrow (Wednesday, March 9th) in Williard Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
