High Point University Track and Field will be hosting its annual marquee meet the Vertklasse Meeting, the only meeting in the US.
The Field:Â App State, Barton, Campbell, Charlotte, Coker, Concord, Davidson, Denison, Duke, Elon, Fayetteville St., Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Georgian Court, Glenville St, High Point, Lees-McRae, Lenior Rhyne, Liberty, Louisburg College, Meredith, Methodist, Mount St. Mary's, NC A&T, NC Central, North Carolina Wesleyan, Patrick Henry, Pfeiffer, Roanoke, Shaw, St Augustine's, UNC, UNC-Asheville, Wake Forest, Wheeling, William Peace, Winston Salem State, and Winthrop.
Field Notes:Â The field includes three ACC teams in Duke, North Carolina, and Wake Forest. Six of the teams scored at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships last season in Oregon, NC A&T (M&W), UNC (M&W), Duke (W), HPU (W).
Media Coverage: This weekend's meet will be conducted by Flash Results as will all HPU home meets this season. Both days will be streamed live on ESPN+, coverage starts when the main running events start each day, Friday at 3:00 and Saturday at 2:30.
Panther Men Highlight of Last Week
Deron Dudley ran a 10.33 in the Men's 100m U/C Times Final at the Texas Relays. Dudley finished fourth in the competition, and he still has the seventh-fastest time in the country from last week's meet. Â
Panther Women Highlight of Last Week
Sydney Horn cleared 4.30m outdoors at the Texas Relays and finished in seventh place in the Women's Pole Vault Elite. Â

This senior class were key contributors in all four of HPU's Big South titles. The first indoor Big South championships in program history in 2020 for each gender, and the first outdoor Big South Titles last season for each gender. On Saturday we will honor Stephen Binkley, Hocine Bouchrak, Bobby Dupell, Paul Gore, Rob Greer, Nate Gregory, Jordan Levin, Spencer Smucker Sydney Bagus, Leah Bolden, Nyile Facey, Hannah Brookover, Lucy Clayton, Nathalie Elliott, Katie Gregory, Mackenzie Horn, Franzi Jakobs, and Toni Lamond.
2022 Bob Davidson Award Gene Galloway
This year's Bob Davidson Award winner, on behalf of the High Point University Track & Field team. The Bob Davidson award is given to a great contributor to the Track & Field program. This year's recipient will be Gene Galloway. At High Point University, Galloway was one of the finest jumpers to ever compete for the Panthers from 2003 to 2007. He was a school record holder in the Men's Triple Jump at High Point. A six-time All-Big South selection and four-time Big South Champion in 2006 & 2007 in the Men's Triple Jump, Galloway also qualified for the NCAA Division I East Regional twice. He was also selected as a 2000-2009 Indoor All-Big South Decade Team selection. A well-respected leader on the track & field team, he served as Vice-President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during his college days and was a Big South Presidential Scholar for three consecutive years. He is currently in his seventh full season and third season as the Head Track and Field Coach at Roanoke College
