The High Point University baseball team dropped a 7–0 decision to Elon at Truist Point.
Justin Ebert and
Charlie Klingler led HPU with two hits apiece while
David Coleman and
Adam Stuart each recorded hits as well.

Both teams kept zeros on the board through the first two innings as, but the Phoenix unleashed in the third, plating three runs on four hits.
Louis Stallone tallied two strikeouts in 3.0 innings pitched.
The Panthers put runners on base in the bottom of the fourth inning, as Ebert singled to right field before Coleman walked. But with runners on first and second, a double play ended the inning.
HPU had runners on base again in the bottom of the ninth, as Klingler and Stuart led off with singles through the left side. However, two strikeouts and a fielder's choice that had Stuart out at second base finished the game and awarded Elon with the shutout.
Up Next: High Point travels to Spartanburg this weekend to take on USC Upstate in their third Big South weekend series. Friday night's game is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
