Jacksonville, FL., -- The High Point University baseball team lost to the Jacksonville Dolphins on Saturday afternoon, 17-9.
Cole Singsank and
Cameron Lee both recorded their first home runs of the season.  Â
Head Coach Joey Hammond: "Obviously a difficult one. We showed some fight like we did yesterday as well, had an opportunity to tie the game in the seventh inning. But it's a tough one to climb out of, we gave up a lot of free bases, and any time it's difficult when you only get three outs out of your starter and you have to go to your bullpen. That's challenging early in the season, but I thought
Parker Dean and
Everett Vaughan did a great job, they kept us right in the game in a big situation. It was really good to see that fight out of them to give us that opportunity. I think we kind of threw away some at bats in the middle of the game that hopefully we'll learn from. But we were able to get some guys some at bats and opportunities to get their first action under their belt. We've got DK (
David Keith) on the mound tomorrow and another opportunity to fight and get on the board. It's tough to win on the road in college baseball, tough to win anywhere, and especially if you make it easier for them. Hopefully we'll learn from it and be back tomorrow with some energy."
Panther Particulars
The Dolphins were on the scoreboard first as they went up two runs early in the first inning.Â
The Panthers were able to respond in the second inning starting with a Javon Fields single which scored

The Dolphins kept the offensive pressure on HPU as they added another four runs to extend their lead to 6-2.Â
Singsank made his plate appearance count in the third inning with a three run homerun to bring HPU back within one of the Dolphins.
Â
The Panthers kept pushing in the fourth inning as Fields made it around the bases and scored on a passed ball to tie the game at six. Cameron Lee followed up that play with a solo home run of his own to give HPU a 7-6 lead.Â

Brady Pearre.
The back and forth battle continued in the fifth inning as the Dolphins found two runs of their own to tie the game at eight.Â
