HPU Women's Lacrosse Releases 2023 Schedule

HIGH POINT, N.C.- HPU women's lacrosse has officially released their schedule for the 2023 season. The Panthers will play 17 games, consisting of nine at home and eight on the road.

High Point will face Davidson again for their home opener to kick off the season. The Wildcats held a 13-5 record overall last season and had a 4 goal edge over the Panthers in their most recent matchup.

The Panthers will then take on "The Mount" who won 15 of their 20 games in the 2022 season and went 7-1 in conference. It was a mid-season matchup between the teams last spring with High Point falling just short 11-6.

For their final home game before hitting the road, HPU will take on a strong JMU team who made it to the second round of the NCAA's a season prior. This will be the ninth time the Panthers and Dukes go head-to-head.

The Panthers, or should I say "California Girls", will be making a trip out to the west coast to face USC and San Diego State March 3rd and 5th. This will be the first matchup between High Point and the two teams.

High Point is back on home turf March 15th to face the Elon Phoenix before making a quick trip east to Chapel Hill to play UNC.

Conference play begins March 29th at Vert against Winthrop. The Panthers had a dominant win over the Eagles 23-2 during their last regular season matchup.

High Point will have three more Big South conference games in a row facing Mercer, Furman, and Radford back-to-back-to-back.

The next out-of-conference game will not come until April 11th in Durham. The Panthers started out strong against the Blue Devils last spring and hope to redeem themselves at Duke this year.

For their last five games of the regular season, the Panthers will face all in-conference competitors. They will travel to play Presbyterian and Longwood before coming back home to take on Wofford. They are on the road again traveling to Buies Creek to face Campbell and they wrap up the season at home against the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb.

Some key returners for High Point include Graduate attack Mena Loescher, Graduate Midfield Emma Genovese, as well as Redshirt Senior goalie Taylor Suplee. The Panthers are on the prowl to bring home their eighth conference championship.
