HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University men's and women's track and field head coach
Mike Esposito has announced the indoor and outdoor schedules for the upcoming 2022-23 season. The Panthers have 25 meets on the 2022-23 slate, increasing from 23 meets a season ago.

HPU is scheduled to open the indoor season on December 1
st and 2
nd in Lynchburg for the Liberty Kick-Off. The Panthers will travel to Liberty two more times later in the indoor season. High Point is also set to run at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem three times and Virginia Tech twice. The Big South Indoor Championships will also be held in Blacksburg this season, February 24
th-25
th.
The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held March 10
th-11
th in Albuquerque, New Mexico. High Point will run at New Mexico earlier in the season (January 27-28) at the UNM Team Open.

Mike Esposito on the indoor schedule: "Something we always try to take into account when we're creating a schedule is the level of kids, some who are in development and our elite. This year, we're really excited to be taking some of our kids to New Mexico in hopes that they'll be there to compete later on for the NCAA Indoor Championships. And also the other big indoor meet is the Navy meet. There are only four teams, it's us, Navy, Penn, and San Jose State, which is pretty cool. We're also excited to go to Virginia Tech for indoors, and it's a great facility for the conference meet."
High Point is set to host three home meets in 2023, including the opening weekend Bill Webb Combined Events & Bob Davidson Memorial, set for March 17
th-18
th. The annual VertKlasse is set for March 31
st-April 1
st before the Panthers close out the home outdoor schedule two weeks later with the second annual Meet of Champions (April 15).
HPU is set to make two trips to Virginia for the UVA Challenge on April 20
th-22
nd before returning the next weekend (April 30) for the UVA High Performance meet.
Winthrop is set to host the Big South Outdoor Championships this season. Action in Rock Hill is set to begin May 10
th with combined events before finishing up on Friday, May 12
th. The preliminary round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships will be run in Jacksonville, Fla. On May 24
th-May 27
th. The 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships are set to begin two weeks later in Austin, Texas, on June 7
th-10
th.
Head coach Esposito on the outdoor schedule: "For outdoors, we're in a really good situation due to our location. We're excited to be hosting three meets in addition to some really high-level local meets. With the ability of some of our individuals, they can travel if needed to prepare for NCAA Regionals and NCAA Championships."
