The High Point University men's soccer team starts its season at Davidson in its season opener on Thursday night (Aug. 26th) at 7:00 PM inside Alumni Stadium.
Matchup History with Davidson
The Panthers lead the series 3-2-2. HPU won in the last meeting between the two teams 2-1. This will be the fourth straight meeting between Davidson and HPU that takes place in Alumni Stadium.
A look at Davidson
The Wildcats were 3-4-2 a season ago and went 2-2-2 in A-10 conference play. Lucas Hauth led the Cats in scoring last season with five goals on the year. Davidson was picked to finish eighth in the A-10 preseason poll.
Preseason in Review
HPU went 1-1-1 in preseason play, MD Myers led the way in scoring in the exhibitions with two goals. Alex Abril had an assist in the Montreat game and then added the lone goal against CofC.

HPU has been ranked in all three preseason polls as Top-Drawer Soccer announced on Monday that HPU was ranked 22 in the TDS media poll.
Recruiting Rankings
The future is bright for High Point Soccer as for the second straight season HPU will be bringing in a top 25 recruiting class as ranked by Top-Drawer Soccer.

Rounding out the busy news week from Top-Drawer Soccer for the Panthers both MD Myers and Sebastian Chalbaud earned Best XI honors from TDS.
