Panther Particulars

High Point's first shot of the contest came just 8 minutes in off of the foot of MD Myers. Myers nearly scored to put HPU up one early but Duke's goalkeeper Grant Farley made the save to keep the game even.

Aldair Cortes provided a quality chance late in the first half with 13 minutes left as his header had to be chased down by Duke's goalkeeper Hamel who was just able to keep it out of the net.

Near the end of a very even first half, in the 43rd minute, The Blue Devils made the most of a Panther turnover. Miguel Ramirez created a one on one opportunity for himself and put Duke up 1-0.

In the second half, HPU nearly found the equalizer with two quality chances one after the other. In the 54th minute, Caco Fernandez sent in a shot that was stopped by Duke's goalkeeper Hamill. The ball bounced back out Davis Biggerstaff was the first to the ball and took another shot on goal that went just wide.

In the 73rd minute, Thorleifur Ulfarsson added the second Duke goal of the evening as the Blue Devils went on to win 2-0.

The contest was evenly matched as neither side had many chances with each side only recording four shots on goal. Duke shot 10 times total while HPU took eight total shots.
