The High Point University men's basketball team (6-9) (4-6) will be on the road again as they take on Hampton (7-8) (6-4). The Panthers look to carry their momentum from the sweep over GWU into their clash with the Pirates. The two-game Big South series starts on Sunday (Feb. 7) and continues on Monday (Feb. 8). Sunday's game will start at 2:00 PM while Monday's game will tip at 4:00 PM and both will be streamed on ESPN+.

How Sweep It Is!
HPU enters the upcoming series against Hampton having won three out of its last four games. The Panthers swept Gardner-Webb in its last two contests in highly competitive games each of which came down to the wire.Â
Wright Again!
A big weekend from John-Michael Wright helped the Panthers secure the sweep over the Runnin' Bulldogs. The Fayetteville native had quite the week of scoring, in a week where HPU played four games from Sunday (Jan. 24) to (Jan. 30). Against PC on Monday (Jan. 25) he scored a team-leading 22 points. On Friday (Jan. 29) against the Runnin' Bulldogs Wright scored 11 points in the win. On Saturday (Jan. 30) Wright finished with 28 points, he scored 25 of them in the second half leading HPU to a comeback victory as HPU swept Gardner Webb. Over three Big South games in six days, JMW scored 61 points. Â
Dell Gets It Done
A game-high 17-point performance for Lydell Elmore on Friday (Jan. 29) which lifted The Panthers to the win in game one against GWU. The next night (Jan. 30) Elmore scored 13 points and brought in four rebounds as The Purple and White secured the sweep against Gardner-Webb.Â
A Holt of Energy
Alex Holt started his first two games of the season against Gardner-Webb on Jan 29 and Jan 30. On Friday (Jan 29) freshman Holt saw his first career start on Friday night and nearly brought in a double-double as he scored 12 points and brought down eight rebounds. On Saturday (Jan. 30) Holt was the third Panther in double figures as he had 11 points and brought in a team-leading six rebounds. In the Two wins over GWU Holt scored 23 points total and had 14 rebounds for the series.Â

Throughout the entire 2019-20 season, the Panthers totaled 24 dunks. After fifteen games, the Panthers already have surpassed that total with 28 jams on this season.
