The High Point University Panthers will be hosting the annual HPU VertCross Invite on February 12 in Kernersville, N.C. This will feature an 8K course for the men and a 6K course for the women. Races will start at 3:00 p.m. (Women) (6K) (Women) and 4:00 p.m. (8K) (Men). This year the race will feature Campbell, College of Charleston, Concord University, Elon, University of Charleston. 

It will be The Panthers second race of the year after both the men's and women's teams won the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational. For the Panther men Hocine Bouchrak will look to keep his momentum rolling from his first-place finish in Rock Hill in the first race of the season. The reigning Big South Runner of the Week finished the 8k with a first-place time of 24:25.6.

The Panther women were also victorious in Winthrop as HPU finished 2-3-4-6-7 (9) (10) which powered them to a first-place finish. Famke Heinst was HPU's first finisher as she placed second with a time of 18:06.0. Lindsey Ickes finished third with a time of 18:20.5.
