HIGH POINT, N.C.—The High Point University women's basketball team picked up their third victory of the season on Thursday night in the Qubein Center as they defeated King, 76-56. J
enson Edwards led the Panthers with 18 points, while
Jaden Wrightsell finished with 15 points. Both
Edwards and
Wrightsell finished with double-doubles as
Edwards had a full stat line with 10 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks while
Wrightsell pulled down nine offensive boards and 12 total rebounds.
Chelsea Banbury: "I give King a lot of credit, their bus was late, and they were scrambling, and they came out ready to go. They were attacking us, and they did play hard for forty minutes, but I'm happy that our girls stayed with it and in the fourth quarter really came out ready to play. Finally, tonight we were able to score in a variety of ways, we weren't necessarily just settling for outside shots. Jaden (Wrightsell) and Cydney (Johnson) were all over the offensive glass and getting us second chance points and then we were attacking people on catches and getting them on closeouts and trying to attack the rim, so I was happy with that."
