RALEIGH, N.C.-- The High Point University men's soccer dropped a midweek non-conference match to NC State 4-0 in Raleigh, NC on Tuesday night (Oct. 12).

The Arrival
HPU did not allow an NC State shot until the 16th minute, the Wolfpack chance came off of a corner Trent made the initial save a Wolfpack player fired a shot off the deflection, Finn McRobb stepped in for Trent and made the stop to keep NC State off the board.
After holding NCSU scoreless for the first 30 minutes to start the game the Wolfpack struck first in the 32nd minute to jump out to a 1-0 lead.
In the 39th minute, NC state added a second goal to their total right before the break to take a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
The second half started similarly to the beginning of the game as the defenses traded stop. HPU held the Wolfpack to only one shot in the first ten minutes of the second half.
NCSU added a third to go up 3-0 in the 63rd minute.
In the 65th minute, Alex Abril sent over a quality cross that set up a corner. Abril's ball almost connected with MD Myers and was knocked out by State.
Sebastian Chalbaud took a shot on goal in the 79th minute as the Panthers looked to get on the board. NC State made the save.
HPU started to control possession much more in the second half, the night ended with possession only a 10% difference as NC State had possession for 55% of the game and HPU recorded 45%.
NC State would add one more goal and go on to win 4-0.
UP NEXT: The Panthers stay on the road with a trip to Radford, Va. on Saturday, October 16th to face the Highlanders at 7:00 PM as the Panthers resume Big South play.
