Women's Soccer Announces 2021 Schedule

HIGH POINT, N.C.-- High Point University women's soccer head coach Brandi Fontaine has announced the Panthers' 2020-21 non-conference schedule in conjunction with the Big South who has announced the conference schedule. The 2021 Big South favorite Panthers will play 10 games in total – nine Big South Conference games and one non-conference game.

"To say we are ready to play games and compete against opposing teams would be a huge understatement, Coach Brandi Fontaine said. "To finally have a reward for all the hard work they have put in since shutting down last March is beyond exciting for our whole program. We have competed a lot with ourselves and now we are ready to see the growth we have made as a team in true competition. It won't be easy as we jump pretty quick into conference play, but we feel very confident this group is prepared and ready to compete."

The Panthers open their season at home with their lone non-conference game as they host Elon on Saturday, February 13th. On Sunday, February 21st The Panthers start their Big South slate with a game against Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C. Wrapping up the month of February, HPU will face Campbell seven days later on the road on the 28th.

March 6th will be High Point's Big South home opener as the Panthers host the Bulldogs of UNC Asheville. Only two of HPU's Big South contests will occur on a weekday the first weekday Big South Clash for HPU will take place on Wednesday, March 10th when HPU hosts Gardner Webb. The Panthers will have a quick turnaround as they are back in action just four days later with a game in Charleston, S.C. against Charleston Southern on March 14th. The next weekend Sunday, March 21st HPU is back in Vert to play USC Upstate. The final Big South road contest for the Purple and White will be on March 28th against Radford.

High Point will host its final two regular-season Big South games of the year as on April 3rd Presbyterian College comes to Vert Stadium, and on Thursday, April 8th The Panthers will host Longwood.

The Big South postseason will begin on Tuesday, April 13th with the Big South Semifinals. The Big South Championship final is slated for Friday, April 16th.
