HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point University volleyball head coach Ryan Meek announced the promotion of assistant coach Jill Sikes to associate head coach Wednesday afternoon (June 24).
 
"Jill has been an integral part of the success we've had the past two years here at High Point University," Meek had to say of Sikes. "From leading our recruiting efforts to training the No. 1 defense in the conference the last two years, her fingerprints are all over the HPU volleyball program. She is committed to learning and growing and each year continues to develop into a better and more well-rounded coach. She has earned this promotion and I'm excited to continue to watch her growth as a coach."
 
Sikes joined the High Point staff prior to the 2018 season and has helped maintain HPU's status as a force in the Big South. She primarily works with the Panthers' defense and guided the unit to the top 20 in the country in opponent hitting percentage and top 12 in the country in aces per set in the 2019 season. Sikes is also the lead recruiter for the Purple and White and produced three All-Conference freshmen in 2019, including Big South Freshman of the Year Kaley Rammelsberg.
 
Additionally, Sikes is HPU's lead trainer for libero Abby Bottomley, who was chosen as an alternate for the USA Collegiate National Team and is a three-time First Team All-Big South selection.
