- HPU picked up its first win of the Big South schedule Saturday afternoon (Jan. 4) with an 85-46 drubbing of USC Upstate to snap a five-game losing streak.
- Skyler Curran, Camryn Brown, Callie Scheier, and Zaria Wright all scored in double digits for the Panthers, led by Curran's 17, the fourth-straight game she's led the team in scoring.
- Brown's 16 points give her 976 in her career, 24 points away from becoming the 13th Panther in the Division I era of High Point University women's basketball to reach the 1,000-point mark.
- Five different players gathered at least seven rebounds, led by Curran and Chyna McMichel with eight each. Brown, Jenson Edwards, and Danielle Deoul each had seven to help HPU grab a season-high 49 rebounds.
- High Point attempted a season-low 20 shots from behind the arc but connected on eight of them for a season-high shooting percentage of 40% from three-point land.

Across the Bench
- Radford is 4-7 on the year but has started conference play 2-0 with wins over Presbyterian and Charleston Southern.
- The Highlanders won the Big South regular season and tournament a year ago and were predicted to repeat as champs again this season.
- Khiana Johnson is the only Radford player to average double-digit points per game, with the All-Big South Preseason Second Teamer averaging 11.6 PPG.
- Right behind Johnson is All-Big South Preseason First Team nominee Sydney Nunley, averaging 9.2 PPG and 6.3 rebounds per game, second in rebounding to Amele Ngwafang's 7.5 RPG.
- Radford is led by seventh-year head coach Mike McGuire. McGuire has an overall record of 116-75 at Radford entering the season and a 78-36 mark in Big South play, with two Big South regular season championships in the last three years.
