High Point, NC- The Panthers wrapped up their opening non-conference slate before Big South Conference play gets started next week, with a game against ETSU. ETSU won 2-0. The Panthers recorded more shots then ETSU with 17 to their 13, However ETSU had 8 shots on goal while HPU had 4.

"ETSU deserved the result tonight." Head Coach Zach Haines said. "They outworked us and took advantage of their opportunities. We didn't bring the elements of the game that always have to be there to compete at the highest level. We will learn from it, move on, and we will be better for it as we look to conference play next weekend."

The Bucs applied offensive pressure early scoring in the first ten minutes of the game with their first goal being scored in the 5th minute. In the 20th minute, ETSU would add to their lead going up 2-0. Both goals were scored by Hauk Andreas.

The Panther defense performed well in the second half, shutting out ETSU in the last 45 minutes of the game. This effort was led by redshirt senior goalkeeper Keegan Meyer. Keegan recorded a game-high 6 saves in the contest. Meyer's performance was highlighted by a save that came in the 59th minute. Meyer came out to stop a breakaway opportunity for ETSU's Annestad, Meyer dove out in front of the ball and partially blocked it. The ball bounced back to Annestad who went to shoot again with Meyer now out of position, Meyer slid in and eliminated the ETSU scoring opportunity.
