HIGH POINT, N.C. -Â High Point University track and field returns to Charlottesville, Va. this week, competing in the Virginia Grand Prix on Friday and Saturday.
Action at Lannigan Field kicks off at 4 PM on Friday, but the Panthers' weekend begins at 6 PM with the women's javelin, where newcomers Abby Bottomley and Jenna Weidner will be making their HPU debuts.
The Panthers will be sending a total of 25 athletes to Charlottesville this week, competing alongside some of the strongest competition in the southeast region. In addition to No. 16/17 North Carolina A&T (W/M) and No. 23 Virginia (M), ACC members Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Duke are all expected to be in attendance, as well as Big South foes Radford and Hampton.Â
