HIGH POINT, N.C. -Â After securing three wins over conference opponent Longwood, High Point University will be looking to extend its four-game winning streak in Big South play this Thursday at Presbyterian. This weekend's series will be played a day earlier than most, in congruence with Easter Sunday, with the Panthers partaking in their first Thursday contest of the 2019 season.Â
With a pitcher's duel to start the weekend series, the Panthers tallied a convincing 12-2 win over visiting Longwood on Sunday, before completing the three-game sweep of the Lancers in a walk-off finale victory. HPU held LWU to just 10 runs over the pair's three-game stint, securing a series win over the Lancers for a fourth straight time.Â
Presbyterian ranks as high as third in the Big South this season, with the team's 10-5 record in conference play reflecting their back-to-back series sweeps of USC Upstate and UNC Asheville. The Blue Hose have lost just a single series against Big South opponents this year, getting swept by Campbell University at the end of March.Â
