The High Point University men's soccer team (11-6-0, 6-1-0 Big South) will host USC Upstate (5-11-0, 1-6-0 Big South) to close out the regular season on Wednesday.

Matchup History
  • The Panthers hold a 3-0-1 mark over the Spartans since 2009, winning last year's contest between the two teams, 4-1.
  • In last year's match, Illias Kosmidis and Siggi Benonysson both had multi-goal games, each scoring twice in the contest. Kosmidis also assisted on one of Benonysson's goals. Alex Abril also recorded an assist the last time these two teams met.

Panther Notes
  • High Point looks to bounce back after losing to Campbell in their last contest. Saturday's result cinched the No. 2 seed in the Big South Tournament for the Panthers.
  • Jonathan Bolanos had the lone goal on senior night, his second of the year. Sixth Panthers have now scored multiple goals this season.
  • The assist on Bolanos' goal came from Jordan Lonchar, his second helper of the season.
  • After taking two shots, one of which was on goal, Kosmidis now sits at second in the conference, with 25 shots this season.
  • Keegan Meyer continues to lead the Big South in overall save percentage (.781) after making four saves on Saturday in a game in which Campbell fired 17 shots at the Panthers' netminder.

Across the Bench
  • USC Upstate comes into the match after a tough loss to Winthrop, 4-6, on Saturday. Before that, the Spartans had won two straight against Liberty and Wofford.
  • The Spartans are led offensively by freshman midfielder Pascal Corvino, who has scored four goals this season.
  • Junior forward Pol Monells has also played a large role in the Spartans offense, recording five assists and scoring goals in two straight games coming into Wednesday's match.

Up Next: As the No. 2 Seed in the Big South Conference Tournament, High Point will receive a bye into the semifinals of the tournament. The Panthers will host this semifinal matchup next Wednesday (Nov. 13) against the winner of the No. 3 vs No. 6 seed quarterfinal game.
