High Point, N.C. – The High Point University volleyball team defeated Gardner-Webb, 25-14, 25-22 and 25-15, Friday, Sept. 21, to extend their regular-season conference-winning streak to 20 matches tonight at the Millis Center.
Â
"It's always good to get a win," HPU head coach
Ryan Meek said. "Conference wins are hard to come by. It was our first match at home this season, so it was great to come out with a lot of energy and set the tone really fast. I felt like there was a little slip in our play in the second set, but I was really happy to see us come back and regroup in the third set and cruise to a win."
Â
The Panthers (6-7, 2-0) controlled all aspects of the game recording 42 kills with a .255 attack percentage to the Runnin' Bulldogs' (5-9, 0-2) 26 kills and .063 attack percentage. High Point logged 44 digs, while Gardner-Webb notched 35.
Â
"Getting a win at Millis this season feels like it has been a long time coming," senior
