High Point, N.C. – The High Point University volleyball team opens its home schedule this weekend in the Millis Center. The Panthers (5-7) will face Gardner Webb at 7 p.m. on Friday before hosting Winthrop at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
 
On the Panthers
• The Panthers extended their regular-season conference-winning streak to 19 matches with a 3-1 win over USC Upstate on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
• Senior Molly Livingston leads the team with a .337 hitting percentage, which leads the Big South Conference. The Sun Prairie, Wis., native is also tops on the team in kills per set at 2.77.
• Abby Bottomely leads High Point defensively with 5.49 digs per set, which is good enough for first in the Big South Conference and tenth in the NCAA.
• Freshman Madison Smith was named Big South Freshman of the Week Monday, September 17. She posted a .415 hitting percentage and 3.00 kills per set over the weekend against Pittsburgh and Liberty.
 
On the Runnin' Bulldogs
• Gardner Webb brings a 5-8 record into the match after dropping its Big South Conference opener to Winthrop 3-1 on Tuesday, Sept. 18 in Boiling Springs, N.C.
• Freshman Kylee Garrison leads GWU with 2.42 kills per set, while sophomore Elizabeth Griffith leads in hitting percentage at .177.
• Junior Charissa Coleman heads the charge defensively for the Runnin' Bulldogs with 4.29 digs per set, while freshman Hannah Donaldson leads the Big South Conference with 1.39 blocks per set.
 
On the Eagles
• Winthrop comes into Saturday's match with a 5-8 record after defeating Gardner Webb 3-1 to open Big South Conference play Tuesday, Sept. 18 in Boiling Springs, N.C. 
• Junior Jace Kleffner leads the Eagles with 119 kills and 2.90 kills per set, while junior Siani Yamaguchi is tops on the team and in the Big South Conference with a 9.61 assists per set average.
• Senior Carlie Skelton heads the Eagles' defensively averaging 4.38 digs per set.
