Boothe Fuels Panthers in Sweep Over Blue Hose

High Point, N.C. – The High Point University volleyball team took on Presbyterian College at home in the second-to-last home game of the season. HPU had the game in the bag by quickly securing a large lead at the beginning of every set and never giving it up. This allowed the Panthers to sweep the Blue Hose 3-0.

"I thought this was a great team win," Head Coach Ryan Meek stated. "We had contributions from everybody and had the match under control most of the time. I loved our competitive energy tonight, we need to bring that every night."

Site: Millis Center
Score: High Point 3, Presbyterian 0
Record: High Point (15-6, 9-1),  Presbyterian (8-16, 2-8)

The Panthers played an overall great game and only allowed Presbyterian to gain the lead once, by just one point. Kinnady Boothe led the match with a new season-high in her freshman season, putting up 15 kills on a .591 hitting percentage. The team was also able to complete six service aces, with two from Élodie Lalonde.

Set one began and High Point was ready to play. Scoring the first four points consecutively, the Panthers quickly got an early lead. Sydney McKay was able to extend her team's lead by scoring her 35th service ace of the season, advancing the team to a six-point lead at 11-5. Presbyterian was able to go on a run of its own, closing the gap between the teams at 12-10.

The two-point lead was short lived as back-to-back kills from Aisha Keric put the team back into motion to go up 14-10. From there, High Point ran away with the set with a service ace from Lalonde and three consecutive kills from Boothe, leading the team to a 21-13 lead.

Presbyterian was able to get a few more points, but Boothe was able to put down two more kills, getting her seventh of the game and beating her season high of six kills against USC Upstate in just one set. Two errors from Presbyterian gave High Point the set, 25-17.

Set two started off with some back and forth between the teams, but the Panthers were able to quickly gain the lead after two more kills from Boothe and three kills from Lalonde, putting the team up 10-3.  From there, the team's lead only increased, with Presbyterian not being able to keep up. High Point quickly advanced to a score of 22-16. Back-to-back kills from Keric got the Panthers to their match point, and an error from Presbyterian sealed the deal. High Point won the set 25-16.

Presbyterian came into set three with the lead but quickly lost it to the Panthers, who were able to gain the lead at 4-3. High Point was able to maintain that lead for the rest of the set, with both Kea Whillock and Remy Catojo scoring on service aces, the team's fifth and sixth of the game. Boothe put down her 15th kill of the night, almost tripling her previous best. A final kill from Maya Bukovcan finished the set 25-19, winning the game and sweeping Presbyterian.

As a team HPU registered 46 kills on a .321 hitting percentage. Catojo dished out 35 assists as Keric and Boothe led the way on the attack. Whillock, Catojo and Grace Killion all recorded double digit digs to combine for 32 of the 44 total team digs.

UP NEXT: High Point hosts Charleston Southern for its final home game of the 2026 season on Saturday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. inside the Millis Center.
