HIGH POINT, N.C.— After Hurricane Florence washed out its road matchup with Penn State, High Point University men's soccer gets back to work this Tuesday at USC Upstate at 7 p.m. The Panthers' contest with the Spartans opens conference-play for the Purple & White, as HPU looks to repeat as Big South regular season champions.
HPU suffered their first loss of the season last week, falling 2-1 to an Elon side that received votes in the most recent United Soccer Coaches top-25 poll. The Panthers look to continue their running success against the Spartans, going undefeated against Upstate since joining Division I men's soccer in 1999.
The Spartans enter their midweek contest on a two-game losing streak, with their lone win coming in a conference matchup with UNC Asheville. USC Upstate is the only team in the Big South to have already played three conference matches, opening 2018 with a loss to NC State.
