HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University women's basketball head coach
DeUnna Hendrix has announced the addition of four transfers to the 2018-19 roster on Tuesday.
Junior college transfer Miya Bull (Iowa Western CC) will be eligible immediately while Bria Gibson (VCU), Danielle Deoul (George Mason) and Zaria Wright (Toledo) will serve a year in residency during the 2018-19 campaign before joining the active roster for the 2019-2020 season.
"We're excited about our new additions to the program," Hendrix said. "They all come in with valuable experience that will be greatly beneficial in our continued growth as a program."
The four transfers, along with
four incoming freshmen – Skyler Curran, Jenson Edwards, Mya Grimes and Mikaela Johnson – join a roster full of veterans for the 2018-19 season.
Miya Bull | 5-11 | Forward | Charlotte, N.C. | East Mecklenburg (Iowa Western CC)
Prior to HPU: Averaged 8.0 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in helping the Retrievers to a 25-5 mark during the 2017-18 campaign … Shot 57.7 percent from the floor including a 9-of-10 shooting outing against State Fair Community College late in the 2017-18 season.

Personal: Daughter of Anthony Bull and Brenda Bookert-Bull … Has an older sister named Ebony … Intends to major in Human Relations at HPU.
Hendrix's Thoughts: "Having played at Iowa Western CC, a traditionally strong JUCO program, Miya knows how to win. She's the type of kid who everyone wants on their team. She brings versatility, athleticism, grit and selflessness to our program."
Bria Gibson | 6-1 | Forward | Columbia, Md. | Sanderson (VCU)
Prior to HPU: Appeared in 63 games with 31 starts during her three seasons with the Rams … Averaged 4.0 points per game in her time in Richmond posting career-best numbers in points (5.8/game) and rebounds (6.1/game) in 2017-18.

Hendrix's Thoughts: "Bria is someone we had recruited hard out of high school and I'm grateful that things have come full circle. Bria just knows how to work. She creates her own rebounding opportunities, wins 50/50 balls and uses her strength and athleticism to create mismatches."
Danielle Deoul | 6-2 | Forward | Washingtonville, N.Y. | Immaculate Conception (George Mason)

Stacia Robertson. She has size, strength and versatility. We look forward to all that she'll bring to us, especially after a redshirt year of developing within our system."
Zaria Wright | 5-8 | Guard | Concord, N.C. | Concord (Toledo)
Prior to HPU: Appeared in nine games off bench ... Averaged 0.7 points, 0.1 rebounds, 0.2 assists and 0.1 steals in 2.6 minutes per contest ... Tallied three points, one board and one helper vs. Louisiana in consolation round of Preseason WNIT (Nov. 18).
