High Point Notes:
• HPU opened Big South competition with a 1-0 win at Longwood on Saturday. Senior Michele Micciche scored her second goal of the season in the 15th minute on a PK and senior Alex Hank made five saves to secure the shutout.
• The Panthers own a Big South-best seven-game road winning streak dating back to 2015. HPU was a perfect 4-0 away from Vert Stadium in conference play last year and has not lost a Big South road game since 10/10/15 at Liberty (L 1-0).
• High Point's shutout of Longwood was its fourth straight Big South regular season clean sheet. The Panthers have not allowed a regular season goal against a Big South opponent in 365:53, and have yielded just three goals in the last 10 league matches.
• HPU has scored six goals in its first 10 games, its lowest total through 10 contests since Marty Beall's first season in 2009 (1 goal in 11 games). That year, HPU ended up winning the Big South tournament and advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
• The Panthers are the defending Big South regular season champions and are looking to win back-to-back regular season titles for the first time in school history.
• Senior Alex Hank was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week for Sep. 18-24, the second straight Panther to be recognized. Sophomore Allie Reagan earned the honor for Sep. 11-17. Hank notched her second shutout of the season in High Point's 1-0 triumph at Longwood on Saturday, making five saves. She currently is riding a 172:44 shutout streak dating back to High Point's game at Elon on Sep. 10. The clean sheet was the fourth she's been a part of this season, two solo and two shared.

Liberty Notes:
• Liberty was tabbed the preseason favorite in the Big South and is 1-0 in the league after a 1-0 win over Gardner-Webb.
• Jennifer Knoebel was named the league's Preseason Attacking Player of the Year, but has not registered a point in 10 games this year. She scored three goals in last year's Big South tournament.
• The Flames boast a balanced attacked with six players having scored, led by Devon Jones (2G, 2A). Gabrielle Farrell and Abigail Persson have also scored multiple goals this season for Liberty.
• Freshman Melody Jayroe is second in the conference in GAA (1.17) and is the league's reigning Freshman of the Week.

Series Notes:
• The Panthers and Flames are meeting for the 32nd time, and for the ninth time in the last five seasons.
• HPU was 1-1-0 against Liberty a year ago, winning 2-1 in the regular season and falling 2-1 in overtime in the Big South Championship game.
• HPU and LU have met in the last four Big South tournaments with the Flames winning three of the four encounters.
• High Point is looking to move to 2-0 in the Big South for the fourth time in nine years under Marty Beall.
