High Point Notes:
• The Panthers moved to 2-0-0 with a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory on Monday at UNCG. High Point scored twice in the final 18 minutes to pick up the win.
• Redshirt-junior Justen Shear scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute off a feed from sophomore Siggi Benonysson, who secured the assist on the game-winning goal for the second time in as many games.
• For Shear, it was his third career goal after scoring one in each of the prior two seasons. Benonysson is already halfway to his assist total from a year ago (4) and recorded his 26th career point in his 21st career game.
• HPU is 2-0-0 for the first time since 2012, when the team started 9-0-0 en route to a 12-5-3 record. The Panthers have won or tied 29 of their last 36 games (20-7-9) dating back to 2015.
• High Point has ceded just one goal through 180 minutes this season, on a penalty kick in the 55th minute against UNCG. Overall, the Panthers have allowed only five goals in their last nine games dating back to last season (820:11).
• The Panthers utilized a corner kick to tie the game on Monday against UNCG, scoring an own goal in the 73rd after Ryan Inman's ball ricocheted off a Spartan defender. HPU has been awarded 21 corner kicks in its first two matches, including 16 in the second half. Conversely, the Panther defense has faced only two corner kicks.

Duke Notes:
• The Blue Devils are 2-0-0 after earning victories against UCF (2-0) and Fordham (3-0) in the John Rennie Nike Invitational this past weekend at home.
• Duke has outshot its opponents 33-11, including 16-5 in shots on net in the first two matches.
• Freshman goalkeeper Will Pulisic played all 180 minutes and made five saves. He was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week for his efforts.
• The Blue Devils are 2-0-0 for the third time since 2008 and are the first team out of this week's United Soccer Coaches poll.

Series Notes:
• HPU and Duke are meeting for the ninth time, but just the third time in High Point's Division I era (since 1999).
• Duke won the last matchup in 2010, 2-1 in overtime. The Blue Devils were ranked 18th at the time and scored in the waning seconds of the first overtime to secure the win.
• The only other meeting in the Division I era came in 2000, when Duke was victorious 1-0. The teams played five straight years from 1975-79, but have met only three times since.
• HPU is 8-37-5 all-time against current members of the ACC. The Panthers defeated NC State 4-3 in OT last season.
