HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball team hits the road on Tuesday to take on the Winthrop Eagles in Rock Hill, S.C. at 7 p.m.

The Panthers (8-13, 6-4) are riding a season-best three-game winning streak after besting Presbyterian, Longwood and UNC Asheville in a six-day span. Meanwhile, the Eagles (2-20, 1-9) have dropped three straight since beating Longwood on Jan. 24.

Emma Bockrath and
Kaylah Keys combined for 40 points as the Purple & White raced past UNC Asheville for an 81-70 victory in the Millis Center on Saturday. The win gave HPU a season-sweep of the league's preseason favorites.

• The Panthers are experiencing an offensive explosion during its three-game winning streak. Since HPU's setback at Campbell, the team is averaging 82.7 points per game thanks in large part to 19.0 assists per contest.

Emma Bockrath is the Big South Player of the Week after averaging 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists on the week. Overall, the sophomore is averaging 15.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.9 steals in HPU's 10 league contests.

Kaylah Keys has become HPU's Division I leader in scoring, three-pointers, free throws and starts.

Shea Morgan has come on in Big South action scoring 7.1 points per game while knocking down 33-of-57 field goals (.579). The sophomore also posts 1.7 assists per league game.

• In 2015-16, the Purple & White averaged 35.8 rebounds per game and finished 241st in the nation. However, this season the Panthers are 78th this year with 40.3 rebounds per contest.

• High Point dished out 11 assists on its 25 made shots on Saturday. That brings the team's average to assists on 60.6 percent of its field goals. For comparison, the 2015-16 squad tallied out assists on 50.5 percent of its makes. This year, Winthrop has assisted on 47.7 of its made field goals.

• The Panthers are second in the Big South in both free throw and three-point shooting. The squad is up to 41st nationally at the charity stripe and 35th from beyond the arc.

• HPU is on pace to break the program's Division I record for three-point percentage (.357) and free throw percentage (.750).

• Along with averaging 82.7 points the last three games, the Panthers have hit 27-of-53 attempts from beyond the arc (50.9 percent).

The series between these two programs has been cyclical featuring seven winning streaks of at least three games, currently its HPU on a run winning the last four meetings. Overall, the Panthers are 27-20 but just 7-9 on the road.

Scouting the Eagles
Winthrop is off to a 1-9 start to conference play after a last-place finish in 2015-16. The squad has battled injuries and lost two graduate transfers in the offseason, but still center around Erica Williams who joins
Emma Bockrath as the only two players in the conference to average at least 10.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

The Matchup to Watch
Tuesday's matchup figures to be the final meeting between Williams and Keys. They are the top two active scorers in the conference and rank 18th and 13th in Big South history, respectively. The programs have met nine times since theses two joined HPU and Winthrop. Keys has appeared in all nine games and scored 126 points (14.0 ppg) while Williams has posted 109 despite missing two meetings last year (15.6 ppg).

The Panthers stay on the road for their second time this week when they travel to Boiling Springs, N.C. to take on Gardner-Webb at 2 p.m. In the first meeting with the Runnin' Bulldogs this season, High Point earned a hard-fought 71-69 victory behind
Emma Bockrath's season-high 24 points.
