Â
HIGH POINT, N.C. – After splitting two contest in the Millis Center last week, the High Point University women's basketball hits the road to take on Charleston Southern on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Â
Last time out, the Panthers built a five-point lead early in the second half, but couldn't hold on for their seventh straight win as Campbell stormed back for a 69-53 win on Saturday. In the setback, junior
Kat Harris and sophomore
Lindsey Edwards each tallied 15 points as High Point failed to reach 60 points for just the third time in 14 Big South contests.
Â
Quick Hitters
 • This year's team could break the program's Division I record for free throw percentage and three-point percentage. The team is shooting .356 beyond the arc and .756 from the line, both marginally better than the previous record (.356 and .749).
Â
•
Kaylah Keys is headed toward other remarkable career milestone. The guard needs 29 rebounds and one steal to become the first Panther in the team's Division I era to rack up 400 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals.
Â
• In 2015-16, the Purple & White averaged 35.8 rebounds per game and finished 241st in the nation. However, this season the Panthers are 82nd this year with 40.1 rebounds per contest, which ranks second among Big South teams.
•
Emma Bockrath, the two-time Big South Player of the Week in February, is averaging 16.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 steals in HPU's 14 league contests.
Â
• Bockrath had scored at least 20 points in four straight games prior to Saturday's contest with Campbell. After tallying just nine points versus the Camels, the Dayton, Ohio product has scored in double figures in 14 of her last 16 outings.
Â
• High Point has drilled 164 three-pointers (6.6/game), which is the highest per game average in program history.
Â
• Keys needs six more appearances to pass Shamia Brown as the player with the most Division I games played at HPU.
Â
• High Point and Liberty are tied for third in the Big South at 9-5, two games behind the leaders - Radford and Campbell. Meanwhile just a game behind those two, Charleston Southern and Presbyterian are 8-6. Those six teams are currently in position to earn byes in the Big South Tournament.
Â
HPU's Swiss Army Knife
• Bockrath has done a little bit of everything for HPU this season including starting as a guard and a forward. The sophomore leads the team in several categories.
           • Scoring: 13.6 ppg (first)
           • Rebounding: 6.0 rpg (first)
           • Assists: 3.1 apg (first)
           • Steals: 38 (first)
           • Blocks: 7 (first)
           • Field Goals: 129 (first)
Â
• During Big South play the sophomore leads the conference with 16.9 points per game and in three-point shooting percentage (.468).

Â
Scouting the Buccaneers
It's all about guard play for Charleston Southern. The squad's backcourt trio of Ke'Asia Jackson (15.0 ppg), Alyssa Mann (11.8 ppg) and Rachel Burns (11.5 ppg) combine for 62 percent of the team's scoring and 68 percent of the three-pointers CSU has made this season. Meanwhile, the Bucs are 11-3 at home including six straight wins.
Â
The Matchup to Watch
Both teams lean heavily on their backcourts on the offensive end. In the first meeting between the two, CSU picked up the victory thanks in large part to 48 points from Jackson, Mann and Burns. For HPU, Bockrath, Harris and Keys all scored in double figures, but only combined for 37 points in the tightly contested setback.
Â
Next Up
High Point heads back to the Palmetto State on Saturday to take on the Presbyterian Blue Hose. The Panthers lead the all-time series 15-4, but have dropped their last four visits to the Templeton Center.
