HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's basketball team stays on the road on Wednesday to take on Norfolk State on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall.

The Panthers (3-2) are coming off a come-from-behind 69-64 victory at Stetson on Monday to become just the second team to defeated the Hatters at home in their last 12 home games.

PANTHER NOTES
•
Camryn Brown became the fifth Panther to register a 20-point performance this season with a 24-point outburst at Stetson on Monday night.

• Coming off the bench,
Kat Harris is averaging 20.0 points per game over the last two after posting 25 against Barton and 15 in the win over Stetson.

Shea Morgan racked up 17 points against Barton and then 10 versus the Hatters on Monday. It's the second time in her career she's scored double digits in consecutive games.

Emma Bockrath racked up three straight double-doubles for the first time in her career to open the 2017-18 campaign. She ranks 10th in the nation in the statistical category.

• HPU assisted on 15 of 25 makes against Stetson and have now assisted on 60.7 percent of the field goals this year. That's an increase for the third straight season.

• Hendrix finally has a veteran roster to work with for the first time since 2014-15. HPU has had at least 70 percent of its roster comprised by underclassmen each of the last two years, but have nine upperclassmen this season.

• The addition of
Heather Kearney to the staff is showing early returns as HPU's pressure defense has held opponents to a .234 mark from three-point land, which is an improvement from the .310 mark the defense allowed in 2016-17.

• High Point's 23 steals against N.C. Wesleyan is tied for the eighth most in a game so far this season. Meanwhile, the Panthers' 98 shot attempts are tied for the highest single-game mark in the country and the 111 points from that contest rank 10th.

• The Panthers are 35-44 in road games under
DeUnna Hendrix and 5-24 in non-conference road outings in that span.

All Kinds of Threats
• The Panthers have had four different leading scorers in each of the first four games of the season and also have had five different players post 20-point outings.

• Eight different players have registered a double-digit scoring outing in 2017-18. Meanwhile, eight have already posted a career-high mark in scoring.

Continuing to Rebound
• Last year, HPU outrebounded its opponents by 5.3 boards per outing, which ranked 45th nationally. That mark was an 8.6 per game improvement from 2015-16.

• Through five games in 2017-18, that trend as continued as HPU ranks 65th nationally with 43.4 rpg. The team also boasts a plus-6.8 in rebounding margin per contest.

• HPU has outrebounded all of N.C. Wesleyan (22), Ohio (13) and Barton (11) by at least 11 boards.

Bockrath has started 66 straight games through the last two-plus seasons leaving her seven games short of tying HPU's D-I record.

All-Time Series with Norfolk State
The Panthers and Spartans have met three times prior to Wednesday's matchup. The teams split their meetings in 1999-2000 before the Spartans earned a 63-60 victory in the Millis Center last season.

Scouting the Spartans
Norfolk State is 2-3 on the year coming off a 1-1 record in the Florida Atlantic Thanksgiving Tournament. Kayla Roberts' 13.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game lead the team. The senior posted 16 points and 17 rebounds against the Panthers last season.

High Point returns home on Sunday, Dec. 3 to host UAB at noon in the Millis Center where the team is 2-0 this season. After that game HPU has 13 days off before traveling to Virginia Tech for a contest on Dec. 16.
