HIGH POINT, N.C. - The High Point University men's soccer team welcomes Liberty on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a critical matchup heading down the home stretch of Big South play. Both teams enter the match one point out of first place.

High Point Notes:
• HPU has won three straight conference games, including a 3-1 triumph at Gardner-Webb on Saturday. The Panthers received goals from three different players in Jonathan Bolanos, Connor Cesar, and Jaime Vasconcellos.
• The Panthers have found their offensive stroke the last two matches, posting seven goals in two wins. Prior to the outburst, HPU had scored seven goals in its last nine matches and 12 goals overall. High Point is now second in the Big South in goals in conference games (12).
• Sophomore goalkeeper Keegan Meyer has turned the corner over his last eight matches. In that stretch, he has allowed just five goals in 777:25 in net (0.58 GAA). Meyer leads the Big South in GAA (0.60) and save percentage (.870) in conference games.
• HPU has won or tied 35 of its last 48 games (24-12-12) dating back to 2015. Of the 48 matches, 33 have been decided by one goal or ended in a tie. The Panthers have now had a three-game conference winning streak in each of the last two seasons.
• High Point has played five overtime matches this year, including four 2OT games. With the tie at App State, 21 of HPU's 54 games under EJ O'Keeffe have needed OT. HPU holds a 3-4-14 record when extra time is needed.

Liberty Notes:
• Liberty comes in to the match on Wednesday riding a four-game winning streak, including three straight conference victories over Longwood, Asheville, and Presbyterian.
• The Flames have been one of the toughest teams to score on in the Big South, holding a league-best 0.46 GAA in all games and a 0.78 GAA (#2) in conference contests.
• Tresor Mbuyu, the league's preseason offensive player of the year, leads the Flames with 23 points (9G, 5 A).
• James Knoebel is tops in the league in GAA (0.78), save percentage (.815), and shutouts (5 solo, 1 shared).

Series Notes:
• High Point and Liberty have clashed 32 times in school history entering Wednesday's match.
• The Flames have taken five of the last seven matchups, and are 5-1-1 overall against HPU since 2011. HPU's last victory in the series came at Vert Stadium in 2013.
• Last season, HPU and Liberty battled to a 1-1 draw in Lynchburg. Johnny Fenwick scored the tying marker in the 66th minute. Keegan Meyer made five saves in the draw.
• High Point can clinch a conference tournament berth with a point or a loss by Longwood on Wednesday.
