HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University volleyball team will look to continue its winning ways when it hosts Gardner-Webb in the Millis Center on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

The Panthers (15-6, 8-0) have won 10 straight matches and 20 consecutive sets after a 3-0 sweep of UNC Asheville on Saturday afternoon. The Purple & White are one win away from equaling the 2008 squad for the best start to Big South play in program history.

Streaks!
• The Panthers enter Tuesday's match tied for eighth in the nation carrying a 10-match winning streak.

• Coming off six straight sweeps, the Purple & White have the second longest active set streak claiming 20 consecutive sets while Stanford has won 22 in a row.

• A win for HPU would tie the program's Division I record for the longest winning streak tying the 2009 squad, which won 11 straight from Sept. 26 to Oct. 24. It would also tie the same team for the longest single-season Big South winning streak by a High Point team (nine).

Abby Bottomley won the Big South Defensive Player of the Week award for the second time this week. Likewise, she has won Freshman of the Week twice.

Livingston Scorching Defenses
• Junior
Molly Livingston is leading the Big South and ranks 26th in America hitting .394 on the year, which is .070 better than Lindsay Raus' program record.

• During HPU's six consecutive sweeps, Livingston has racked up 65 kills compared to just two errors (.508).

• The Sun Prairie, Wis. native has racked up a .470 attack percentage in the Panthers' eight Big South matches and averages 3.65 kills per set.

Haley Barnes leads the Big South with 0.49 aces per set, which ranks 11th in the country.

• During Big South action, HPU is the only league team to average over 2.00 aces per set with 2.19 a frame.

Amy Pilat, Barnes and Jimenez have been a part of 72 wins including 36 Big South victories. Only four D-I classes have more conference wins while just five groups have more overall wins.

• In terms of winning percentage, no class has won more frequently against conference foes than the 2017 class, which has won over 69 percent of its matches. Similarly, only the 2010 graduating class' .659 winning percentage is better than what this year's seniors .632 mark.

On Oct. 7, the Panthers' defense posted a season-best performance limiting Gardner-Webb to a -.095 attack percentage in a 3-0 sweep. In just three sets, Livingston posted three aces and HPU tallied eight overall. Leading the offense, Barnes racked up nine kills as High Point hit .280 on the afternoon.

While the Panthers enter the contest on a 10-match winning streak, Gardner-Webb has dropped six consecutive matches. The squad is 1-7 through the first half of Big South play despite having the league's top blocker – Keira Moore (1.11/set).
