HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's track & field team will culminate the 2015-16 indoor season this weekend at the Big South Track & Field Championship in Blacksburg, Va.
The two-day event kicks off Friday in Rector Field House with the 60m dash portion of the heptathlon (10 a.m.). The 60m hurdles segment of the heptathlon begins action on Saturday (10 a.m.).

http://files.milesplit.us/live_results/228755/index.html HPU will look to build off a 2015 Big South indoor performance in which the Panthers posted a school record 131 points and earned a third place finish at the JDL Fast Track. The Panthers have increased their point total every year since 2011 and will aim to continue the trend beginning Friday.
Senior
Dennis Crawford gets things started on the track for the Purple & White, when the Clover, S.C., product begins his 60m hurdles title defense at 2:55 p.m. Crawford won the league championship last season with a time of 8.35 seconds.
At 3:25 p.m. Friday, junior
Vinny Todaro aims to capture his second-career Big South title in the 3000m run. Todaro won the outdoor 1500m title last season and will be joined in the 3k by seniors
Benji Szalai and
Jeff LaCoste.
HPU's sprints savants take to the track for the 60m dash trials on Friday at 4:15 p.m. Sophomore
James House (6.82 seconds) and freshman
Sean Banda (6.88) are seeded No. 2 and No. 3 respectively, heading into the league meet and will be joined by senior
Andrew Kuras. The trio also will race in the 200m trials at 5:45 p.m., where House is tied for the top seed (21.84 seconds).
HPU's pole vault unit will look to put up major points in the event, which begins Friday at noon. Senior
Austin Miller won the indoor Big South title in 2015 (5.05m) and shattered his school record last week with a mark of 5.22m at the site of this weekend's meet. Sophomore
Todd Uckermark finished seventh at last year's conference meet (4.40m) while junior
Isaiah Henderson is seeded 12
th (4.30m) heading into this year's meet.
Banda joins senior
Will Narramore in the long jump on Friday at 2:30 p.m. Narramore finished fourth in the event at Big South indoors last year (6.74m) and is seeded seventh this year after posting an indoor PR of 6.88m at the VT Challenge last weekend.
Narramore also will compete in his specialty, the triple jump, on Saturday at 11:50 a.m.
Senior
Paul O'Donoghue looks to claim the indoor portion of the 800m trophy case, as the Franklin, Mass., product won the 800 title at the 2015 Big South Outdoor Championship. He is seeded No. 1 (1:52.64) heading into Friday's race while freshman
Patrick Van Der Cruyssen is 11
th (1:57.56).
HPU's DMR team will enter the meet as one of the favorites to win the title (Friday, 6:20 p.m.) The team captured the title at the Penn State National in a school record time back in January (10:01.35).
On Saturday, High Point's throws duo of senior
Jim Wilson and freshman
Britton Mann suit up for the shot put at 11:30 a.m. Wilson is seeded 12
th (13.60m) and also will suit up in the weight throw on Friday (2:30 p.m.) with Mann, who is 11
th in the shot heading into the meet.
Todaro, freshman
Alejandro Torres and senior
Benji Szalai race in the mile Saturday at 12:30 p.m. while Todaro, LaCoste, senior
Cody Seymour and junior
Chernet Sisay suit up in the 5000m run at 3:40 p.m.
