Camel City EntriesHIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's track & field team splits up for a pair of meets this weekend at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem and the Penn State National Invitational in University Park, Pa.
Penn State National InvitationalA trio of Panthers will be making the trek north to compete in the prestigious meet hosted by Penn State University on Saturday.
Junior
Natalia Ocasio will race for the Panthers in the one mile run at 12:25 p.m. She will compete in the event alongside runners from No. 10 Georgetown, West Virginia, Penn State and St. Joseph's. Ocasio's best time in the mile (5:05.04) came during the 2015 Big South Indoor Championship when she placed fifth.
Also joining Ocasio in the Keystone State are senior pole vaulters
Jill Marois and
Alyssa Palenchar. They will compete Saturday at 3 p.m. Marois is the defending Big South indoor champion in the event, while Palenchar holds the HPU indoor school record (3.72m, 12-2.5) which she set last season at PSU.

Camel City ClassicThe majority of the women's track & field team will make the short trip to the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem to compete in the Camel City Classic. The event will be attended by some of the world's top track & field talent, including 2012 Olympic gold medalist Ashton Eaton (decathlon), 2013 world champion Brianna Rollins (100m hurdles) and two-time Olympic medalist Bernard Lagat (1500m).
Action will begin Friday at 1 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.
HPU's field events kick off with the high jump on Friday at 1 p.m. The Panthers will be represented in the competition by decathletes
Sara Katherine Kirkpatrick and
Erika Bridges, as well as freshman
Charlotte Morrow.
In throws action, senior
Jamie Schnuck and sophomore
Makenzi Holmes-DiGiovine will suit up in the shot put beginning at 5 p.m.
On the track, juniors
Amanda Gregory and
Alyn Carr and sophomore
Mikaela Campbell race in the 60m dash prelims at 2:20 p.m. Junior
Cozette Collin and freshmen
Keaton Case and
Janelle Rothacker will compete in the 800m run at 3:55 p.m.
In HPU's final race on Friday evening, seniors
Julia Zautcke and
Lindsey Siska, as well as freshman
Courtney Kerr will run the 3000m at 8 p.m.
Holmes-DiGiovine is back in action on Saturday in the weight throw (9 a.m.) alongside Kirkpatrick. In jumps action, freshman
Arianna Coleman will suit up for the triple jump at 9:30 a.m.
On the track, HPU will enter a distance medley relay team of Rothacker, Kirkpatrick, senior
Erika Peoples and freshman
Jasmyn Gillespie. That event begins at 10:40 a.m.
HPU's track events wrap up with the 4x400m relay at 12:30 p.m. That quartet will feature freshman
Emmy Geis, sophomore
Ashlynn Schiro, Coleman and Kirkpatrick.
