Live Video HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University volleyball team is riding a four-match winning streak into its non-conference finale at Western Carolina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday night.
The Panthers (9-6) won all four of last week's matches in straight sets – the longest streak of 3-0 wins in head coach
Jason Oliver's tenure. The Catamounts, meanwhile, are 6-9 after dropping their last two matches in the Golden Eagle Invitational at Tennessee Tech on Sept. 19.
Last Time Out:HPU ran through Coppin State, St. Francis (Pa.) and Fordham in the Red Flash Classic without dropping a set over the weekend. Sophomore

Haley Barnes led the way for the Panthers as they earned all-tournament honors.
Senior
Annemarie Chin earned conference defensive player of the week honors by racking up 5.56 digs per set over the weekend's three matches. Led by Chin, High Point held its opponents to a .122 attack percentage. Likewise, on offense the Panthers were efficient hitting at a .306 clip.
Scouting the Catamounts:Western Carolina opened the season 3-2, but has since dropped seven of its last 10 matches to fall to 6-9. The squad went 1-2 last weekend in three 4-set matches at Tennessee Tech's tournament.
Multi-talented sophomore Jo-Leigh Valverde leads the team in kills (2.67/set) and is second in digs (2.75/set) and assists (4.37/set). Meanwhile, senior Elyssa Mulheron paces the team with 4.61 digs per set as sophomores Kaycey Cermin (0.89/set) and Katie O'Connor (0.86/set) lead the Catamounts in blocks.
Last Time They Met:On Sept. 7, 2015 the Catamounts visited the Millis Center and came away with a 3-2 win over the Purple & White. Senior
Gabi Mirand had a great performance in the match racking up 50 assists, 17 digs and six kills. Despite taking the loss, HPU earned an 84-64 margin in digs and a 63-50 edge in kills.

Annemarie Chin leads the Big South and is fifth in the nation with 5.81 digs per set.
• Chin has won Big South Defensive Player of the Week twice and was all-tournament in three of the team's four non-conference tournaments.

Haley Barnes and
Camryn Freiberg garnered all-tournament honors in the Red Flash Classic on Sept. 18-19.
• Freshman
Abby Broadstreet had a well-rounded week with 2.33 kills, 2.67 digs, 0.67 blocks and 0.44 aces per set.
• Freshman
Jordan Hefner remains one of the top newcomers in the Big South ranking third in hitting percentage (.318) and blocks per set (0.98).
• The Purple & White's defense played lights out over last week holding opponents to a .109 attack percentage while hitting at a .273 clip on offense.
• HPU's 4-match winning streak equals the longest streak from last season.
