HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's track & field team splits up for meets in Raleigh, N.C., and Rock Hill, S.C., this weekend.
 
The Panthers will send a small group of sprinters, distance runners and field athletes to NC State for the prestigious Raleigh Relays, while the majority of the Panthers will head to the Winthrop Invitational.
 
Raleigh Relays
 
Action at the Raleigh Relays begins Friday morning for the Panthers with the 5000m run. Freshmen Ryan Udvadia and James Quattlebaum will open the weekend for the Panthers in Section 2 of the event at 10:47 a.m.
 
Junior Dennis Crawford will race in the 110m high hurdles at 11:30 a.m., while sprinters James House and Andrew Kuras will suit up for HPU in the 100m dash at 1:05 p.m. Later that evening, junior Paul O'Donoghue will race in the 1500m run (5:41 p.m.), while fellow junior Paddy Grandinali will wrap up Friday's action with a berth in the 10000m at 10:19 p.m.
 
Crawford will look to qualify for the finals of the 110m high hurdles, which conclude on Saturday at 12:05 p.m. House and Kuras will aim to compete in the 100m dash final on Saturday at 12:10 p.m.
 
Crawford, Kuras, House and junior Nick Hula will team up for the 4x200m relay at 2:30 p.m., while O'Donoghue, sophomores Luke Goodrich and Nick Williams and freshman Keegan Hanks will run the 4x800m relay at 3:10 p.m.
 
Kuras will represent HPU in the 200m dash on Saturday at 3:50 p.m.
 
Winthrop Invitational
 
Multi-events in Winthrop begin on Thursday, with the remainder of the meet taking place Friday and Saturday.
 
Freshman Matt Hollis will compete for the Panthers in the decathlon to kick off the action for HPU Thursday.
 
In throws action, junior Jim Wilson will compete in the hammer throw and shot put on Friday and the discus throw on Saturday. Wilson will be joined in the shot put and discus by HPU decathletes Tristan Faure and Eric Purnell.
 
Junior Will Narramore will take part in the long jump on Friday, while sophomore Adam DeVito will compete in the high jump on Saturday.
 
HPU's pole vault unit is back in action Saturday, led by junior and 2014 Big South Champion Austin Miller. The group also includes freshman Todd Uckermark, junior Harris Coley and sophomores Jose San Miguel and Isaiah Henderson.
 
On the track, seniors Chris Colo and John Yankello will race in the 1500m Saturday at 12:50 p.m. and sophomore Chernet Sisay will suit up in the 5000m run Friday at 9:20 p.m. Colo and Yankello also will race the 800m along with sophomore Vinny Todaro.
