HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's soccer team will compete in its third Big South Championship game on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m., when the team takes on top-seeded Winthrop at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C.

Student buses to the game will be provided and will leave from Witcher Athletic Center at 1 p.m.

The Panthers advanced to the championship with a thrilling 4-3 win over No. 2-seed Radford on Friday night at Bryan Park. High Point trailed, 3-1, late in the second half but scored three times in the final 11 minutes to earn the come-from-behind win. The game-winning goal came on an own goal with just 27 seconds left to play.

High Point's four goals against Radford match the total number of goals surrendered by the Highlanders in 10 previous games against Big South opponents. Redshirt-junior Erien Campbell, junior Chris Ramsell and sophomore Avery Ryan all found the back of the net for the Panthers.

Ryan leads HPU this season with 19 points and eight goals in his sophomore campaign. Ramsell has scored a goal in each of the Panthers first games of the Big South Tournament and is second on the team with 13 points on five goals and three assists. Sophomore Ebe Kudolo had two assists in the victory over Radford and is first on the team with six assists for the season.

The three goals surrendered by High Point against Radford was a season high and only the fifth time all season that the team has given up multiple goals in a game. Redshirt-senior Kody Palmer has played every minute in goal for the Panthers and has compiled a 0.87 goals-against average and seven shutouts. Palmer is second in the Big South in save percentage and third in saves and goals-against average.

Top-seeded Winthrop has won 10 of its last 12 games entering Sunday, including a 4-0 win over Campbell in the Big South Semifinals, and now sits at 11-6-1 for the season. Max Hasenstab notched a hat trick against the Camels, including two goals on free kicks.

The pair of Hasenstab and Jordi Lluch leads the Eagles on the offensive end in 2015. Hasenstab leads Winthrop and is second in the Big South with 30 points and 13 goals this season while Jordi Lluch is fifth in the conference with 25 points and 11 goals.

Winthrop has posted three-straight shutouts heading into Sunday's game, matching the team's previous total for the season. Fabien Broich has played in 14 games for the Eagles in goal and is 11-2-1 with a 1.10 goals-against average.

High Point is 6-15-2 all-time against Winthrop, including a 1-1 draw at Vert Stadium earlier this season. Defender Johnny Fenwick scored the Panthers' lone goal in the draw. HPU was the first Big South team in 2015 to take points off the Eagles.

Sunday's Big South Championship game will be High Point's third since joining the conference in 1999. The Panthers are 0-2-0 in those games with losses to Winthrop in 2006 and Coastal Carolina in 2010. HPU has never beaten Winthrop in the Big South Tournament, going 0-3-0 in three meetings. The two teams last met in 2007 when WU earned a 3-0 win in Rock Hill, S.C.
