HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's soccer team concludes its current three-game home stand with a Big South conference matchup against Liberty on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. The contest is part of an HPU soccer doubleheader and will follow the women's soccer game against Coastal Carolina.

The Panthers are coming off a 10-0 win over Laurel University on Saturday night and are now 4-3-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the Big South.. The 10 goals scored by HPU match the program's Div. I single-game record. Sophomore Avery Ryan scored three goals on the night and sophomore Poli Rodriguez found the net twice for High Point.

Ryan leads the Panthers with nine points on a team-high four goals and one assist. Rodriguez is tied for the team lead in assists along with redshirt-senior Colscon Wiley, senior Avery Ryan, junior Renato Punyed and sophomore Ebe Kudolo.

The High Point defense has been one of the top defensive units in the country, ranking in the top 10 in goals-against average, save percentage and shutout percentage. The Panthers have allowed just six goals on the season and enter Wednesday's contest having not allowed a goal in their past 388 minutes of action. Redshirt-senior Kody Palmer has played every minute in goal for HPU and is 4-3-3 with a 0.55 goals-against average and six shutouts.

Liberty enters the week with a 4-5-0 overall record and a 0-1-0 mark in conference play following a 2-1 double-overtime loss at home on Sept. 26. The Flames took an early lead with a goal by Kyle Carr in the third minute but the Eagles tied the contest in the 13th minute before winning in the 107th.

LU's leading scorer is forward Sachem Wilson who has seven points on three goals and an assist. Nico Bellarde and Tim Harbison also have multiple goals on the season with two each. Kurt Meyers and Geovanny Murrillo are tied for the team lead with three assists.

Jeremy Lee has nine starts in goal for the Flames and is 4-5-0 with a 1.39 goals-against average and a .683 save percentage. He has shutouts against VMI and James Madison in 2015.

High Point is 12-14-4 in 30 all-time games against Liberty. The Panthers fell at LU by a score of 1-0 in double overtime last season when Wilson scored in the 101st minute.
