HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's soccer team will wrap up its 2015 non-conference slate with a game against Virginia Tech on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m., in Vert Stadium.

High Point comes into Tuesday's match with a 5-4-3 overall record and a 2-1-1 record in the Big South. The Panthers are 4-1-1 in their last six games, including a 2-1 win at Longwood on Saturday. Junior Chris Ramsell and freshman Ryeong Choi both scored for HPU in the road victory.

The Panthers feature a balanced offensive attack with 11 different people combining to score 19 goals on the season. Sophomore Avery Ryan paces the HPU attack with a team-high nine points and four goals through 12 games. Ramsell, Choi, redshirt-senior Colscon Wiley and sophomore Poli Rodriguez are all tied for second on the team with two goals apiece. Sophomore Ebe Kudolo has been High Point's primary creator with three assists out of his midfield position.

High Point's defense has been very stingy this season, allowing just nine goals in 12 games with six shutouts. Redshirt-senior Kody Palmer is 5-4-3 in net for the Panthers with a 0.69 goals-against average and an .850 save percentage. He has six shutouts in 2015 and has allowed two goals in just three games this season.

Virginia Tech is 5-4-2 overall and 0-3-2 in the ACC this season. The Hokies went 1-0-1 last week, picking up a 2-0 home win over West Virginia and a 0-0 draw at Pittsburgh.

Merlin Baus leads Tech and is Xth in the ACC with 13 points on a team-high four goals and a team-high five assists. Six other Hokie players have scored multiple goals on the season, including Som Essome and Ricardo John who both have three goals in 2015. Ben Lundgaard has played every minute in goal for Virginia Tech this season and is 5-4-2 with a 1.21 goals-against average and two shutouts.

The Panthers are 1-2-0 in three all-time meetings with Virginia Tech. The two teams last met in 2013 when High Point suffered a 5-2 loss in Blacksburg, Va. HPU's only win against the Hokies came in 2008 when High Point picked up a 2-1 win at home.
