Sophomore Christine Rickert of the High Point University women's track & field team qualified for the NCAA Preliminary in Jacksonville, Fla. Rickert qualified in the javelin for the second-straight season.
 
Rickert ranks 28th in the javelin with her throw of 47.26 meters at the VertKlasse Meeting at HPU. She broke her own meet record with the throw and was just shy of her career best (47.78). Rickert will compete at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 29.
 
Rickert joins five members of the men's team in Jacksonville, Evan Emery, Dennis Crawford, Patrick Crawford, Christian Spaulding and Jacob Smith.
