Junior Christian Spaulding of the High Point University men's track & field team was named the Big South Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Thursday. Spaulding placed third in the javelin at the North Carolina A&T Last Chance meet last weekend.
 
Spaulding unleashed a throw of 65.78 meters (215-10) to finish third in the javelin at Virginia Challenge on Saturday in Charlottesville, Va. This is the first conference honor for Spaulding this season.
