Junior Catelyn Griffin cleared a new career best 3.57 meters (11-8.5) in the pole vault to finish runner-up as the High Point University women's track & field team finished competition in the Aggie Last Chance meet on Sunday in Greensboro, N.C. Griffin was the Panthers' top finisher.

Griffin's previous career best was 3.50 meters (11-5.75) at the Big South Indoor Championship. Sophomore Jill Marois also cleared 3.57 meters and placed third while sophomore Alyssa Palenchar cleared 3.42 meters (11-2.5) and took fifth in the pole vault.

In the 1,500-meter, freshman Cozette Collin placed fifth with a time of 4:50.15.

On Saturday at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va., junior Leah Anne Wirfel took 13th in the 5,000-meter with a time of 18:15.02.

Next weekend, High Point competes in the Wolfpack Last Chance in Raleigh, N.C., on Friday and the Hokie Twilight in Blacksburg, Va., on Sunday.
